We'll show a lusty selection of mostly French sex films from the silent movie era, with a new live scoring.

In France, the covers in front of the camera are already dropped before 1900, and a few years later the first pornographic films intended for use in brothels were made, not only depicting the nude but embedding it in a plot. The marriage of storytelling and the art of love on the screen began to produce its wondrous blossoms early on: Every genre and preference is catered to - from historical films to zoophilia. It seems as if the modern porn industry is producing nothing than footnotes to its silent predecessors.
