John Banville
About love, art and failure
The Irish Booker Prize winner presents his new masterpiece.
John Banville, born in 1945 in Wexford, Ireland, is one of the most important contemporary authors. His extensive body of work has received numerous awards, most recently the Franz Kafka Prize for Literature, the Man Booker Prize (for The Sea), and in 2013 the Austrian State Prize for European Literature. At the festival, John Banville will present his new novel The Blue Guitar – a linguistically and intellectually impressive contemplation on love, art, and failure in both disciplines.
