Mercee
Against oblivion - with R'n'B at its best
Big voice, big feelings and songs that enchant: Awarded SRF 3 Best Talent, the multitalented musician Mercee doesn't just make classic R'n'B, but mixes it all in her very own way with a bit of electronica and hip-hop. You immediately fall in love with the soft neo-soul voice of the 24-year-old from Zurich.
The daughter of a Cuban and an Italian has caused a furore not only as a musician. Alessia Merced Buttolo (her real name) proved early on that she can make it to the top: At the age of six, she began the Korean martial art of taekwondo and became Swiss champion four times in a row from 2007 to 2010.
"Whoever listens to my music gets to know me. I tell my personal story in my songs," says Mercee. No wonder her songs in Spanish and English also convince lyrically with class, playfulness and a lot of feeling. For example Solita - a hymn to the emancipation of women, which perfectly sums up the mood between the pain of separation and independence. We are looking forward to getting to know her!
