Nell Zink
Lots of sex, both good and bad
Nell Zink is currently the literary shooting star par excellence in the English-speaking world. But she first had to be persuaded to write a book - by none other than literary world star Jonathan Franzen. Spurred on by him, the American author wrote her debut novel The Wallcreeper within a few weeks. Weird, shrill, impetuous, intoxicating, brilliant - the critics overflowed with enthusiasm. All the way up to the New York Times, Nell Zink was hailed as a literary sensation and her book as "Debut of the Year" in the USA.
The book is set in Bern and Saxony-Anhalt, also in Berlin and the Balkans. A fast-paced novel of development and marriage, it builds surprising bridges between seemingly far-flung topics such as flings, bird watching, drugs, wanting children, dubstep, sex, pesky little chores, and eco-activism.
