Book premiere
Ruth Schweikert
The past is now
Ruth Schweikert is considered one of the most important voices in contemporary Swiss literature. Already with her first collection of stories Erdnüsse. Totschlagen (Peanuts. Killing, 1994), she became abruptly known and received numerous prizes and awards. She subsequently wrote several novels and plays – in 1998 she was awarded the prestigious prize of the Swiss Schiller Foundation.
At the festival, she will present her new, long-awaited novel Wie wir älter werden (How We Grow Older). It tells the stories of three generations in alternating perspectives, ranging from World War II to the immediate present.
