Reading and conversation
Sofi Oksanen
Hair-raising stories from the far north
Finland's most important and flashiest author reads from her new novel.
At least since her third novel Purge, published in over forty countries, Sofi Oksanen has been considered one of the most important representatives of contemporary international literature. The book was number one on the Finnish bestseller list for months and has won numerous awards, including the Finlandia Prize, the Nordic Council Literature Prize, and the Prix Femina. Her new novel, Norma, is a dark family drama with magical undertones - a highly suspenseful novel and a passionate plea against the exploitation of women.
