Words on Stage
The big spoken word finale with Ulrike Haidacher, Cenk Korkmaz, Julia Steiner, Marco Gurtner, Tommy Vercetti & Dezmond Dez and Pablo Vögtli
The legendary spoken word variety show takes place for the eighth time and presents the best stage poets and language artists of the German-speaking world:
Ulrike Haidacher (A). In addition to the duo project Flüsterzweieck, the celebrated cabaret artist is also active as a solo artist. Her programs have won numerous awards, including the 2017 Austrian Cabaret Prize. She writes and performs satirical columns for ORF Radio FM4 and was part of the writing team for the comedy series BÖsterreich.
Marco Gurtner is a jack of all trades: TV host, podcaster, musician and one of the most successful slam poets in Switzerland. In 2019 he won the Swiss Championships, in 2013 he took the title in the U20 Championships in Poetry Slam.
Julia Steiner, whiz kid of the slam scene and reigning Zurich slam champion. After only half a year of performing, she immediately made it to 4th place in the German-language poetry slam championships in 2022. With her lyrics she takes the audience on a journey through her life - honest, vulnerable and with a lot of humor.
Cenk Korkmaz, stand-up comedian with Turkish roots and columnist for the Tages-Anzeiger. Thrills audiences with his charm, razor-sharp humor and unique take on the not-so-everyday. In 2020 he won the 'Comedy Club Award'.
Tommy Vercetti und Dezmond Dez have been shaping the Swiss music scene for years with their socially critical, political and introspective rap. The fact that their art is as current and contemporary as ever is demonstrated by the two with their latest albums: Tommy Vercetti with the perceptive and combative Sympathy for Hyena, Dezmond Dez with his magnificent second solo album Film Noir.
The spectacle will be hosted by none other than Pablo Vögtli, co-host of the radio rap show "Bounce" on SRF Virus and presenter of "Cypher", Switzerland's biggest live rap event.
