Words on Stage
Best of Spoken Word feat. Uta Köbernick, Manuel Stahlberger, Kilian Ziegler, 9 Volt Nelly
Words on Stage is a spoken word variety show with Switzerland's best performance poets:
Uta Köbernick is a singer-songwriter, actress, stand-up comedian and winner of the Salzburg Bull Award. She takes a close look at socio-political conditions with a lot of playful wit. Insight and despair, seriousness and humor merge into subtly spun wordplay.
Manuel Stahlberger is different from most of those who are active in the field of humor in Switzerland. The singer, comic book author, stand-up comedian and winner of the Salzburg Bull Prize plays with the quiet tones in the in-between. He gained national fame not only as frontman of the celebrated band 'Stahlberger', but also as side man of Dominic Deville in his SRF late night show.
Kilian Ziegler is one of the most successful slam poets in Switzerland. In 2018, he became double poetry slam Swiss champion. The word acrobat and cabaret artist delights audiences with his distinctive wordplay, intelligent humor and captivating stage presence.
9 Volt Nelly. The duo consisting of Lea Whitcher and Jane Mumfurd moves in the performative border area between theater, music comedy, punk and nonsense. 9 Volt Nelly are funny, critical, kitschy. Multilingual and political, musical and postmodern - a spectacle!
The evening will be moderated by Laurin Buser, who is an actor, rapper and multiple Swiss Poetry Slam champion.
