Reading and conversation
Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor
Brave New Voices
The shooting star from Kenya reads from her highly acclaimed debut novel.
Dust is a great novel about a damaged family and a torn country. Full of power and intensity, Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor tells a story of universal urgency - a story of power and deception, of unrequited love and the unswerving will to survive. In 2003, Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor was awarded the Caine Prize for African Writing. Dust is her first novel, which was shortlisted for the 2015 Folio Prize as well as winning the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature.
